Brian, a true gentleman and good friend. I met him in 1990 at a sales meeting as a rep. I was impressed by the way he spoke and communitcated with all of his staff and greeted me like I had been with them for years. He was always supporting and driving for sales but with understanding of the areas. I will miss the times we had but still have memories.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and members of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Simons family. As the founder of OEM Controls nearly 60 years ago, Brian was an innovative and respected leader in the manufacturing community and a pioneer in the City of Shelton's economic development. I have fond memories of representing the Chamber at the company's 50th Anniversary celebration held in 2016 at the company's headquarters, and will always remember the outpouring of love and affection shared by the employees when Brian entered the room to speak. Brian has left an indelible mark on our community, for which we will be eternally grateful.
Bill Purcell, President, Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce

Brian is about 15 years older than me and he and Barry were frequent visitors to our home in Bryn Athyn growing up. They were our heroes, very much loved by my parents and the whole family. We also visited their family frequently in Connecticut throughout the 1960s. In 1968 I spent Spring Break working in their shop in Norwalk, and 12 years later worked all summer in OEM's by then much bigger plant on Controls Drive. Several times in the 1970s I came during the summer to help with the Pine Needle Camp, and in 1973 we came over a number of times when Sam and Keith were little during the summer, and also spent Christmas there one year. Maybe 15 years ago he flew several of us Simons family members to South Carolina to attend the Simons family reunion and picnic at Middleburg near Charleston. Brian was always such a character and so unique. He and Beth were the perfect couple. Their engagement and marriage was a huge event for us. I love to think of them together again in heaven.
