Obituary of Florence Seferi Evanko

Florence Seferi Evanko, age 83, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Ronald Evanko, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Bridgeport on September 27, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Clanthi Christo Seferi.

At true inspiration to her family, Florence went back to school in her 40's to further her education in medical coding and was a retired Medical Coder for Oxford Healthcare.

She was a very outgoing, kind and loving person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and friends; loved to play bingo, take trips to the casino and looked forward to her weekly card games with her friends. But above all she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who provided the best for her family; often sacrificing her own needs. She treasured when the family was together, especially her granddaughter, creating memories to last a lifetime. The memories they created and the values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her three loving children Dawn Evanko and her partner Thomas DePeano, James Evanko and his partner Colleen Bursey and Diane Hotchkiss and her partner Matthew Reale, a cherished and adored granddaughter, Alexa Hotchkiss, a sister, Gloria Rubis, brothers, Norman Seferi and his wife Helen and Spiro Seferi and his wife Karen, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Ronald, she was predeceased by a sister, Helen Seferi Soter.

Funeral services will take place on Friday June 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton with visitation from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
