Obituary of Joseph J. Santillo
Joseph J. Santillo, age 78, of Huntington passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Salvagne) Santillo. Born in Bridgeport on December 10, 1943 he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Stoccatore) Santillo. Mr. Santillo spent a short period of time as a police officer for the Newtown Police Department before dedicating over 30 years of service to the Bridgeport Police Department, where he retired as a much respected and admired Lieutenant. Joe loved riding motorcycles and was a proud member of the Blue Knights, where he built many friendships. He was a loving husband and wonderful father who loved his family, God, Country and his brothers and sisters in Blue. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Susan of 45 years, other survivors include his loving daughters, Andrea Santillo and her partner Lance of Naugatuck and Lynn Santillo of Seymour, his son-in-law, Steve Parkosewich of Shelton, his sister Gloria Santillo of Trumbull, as well as four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, both grand and great and many friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Coree Santillo and a sister, Gertrude D’Elia.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Huntington Lawn Cemetery South, 268 Huntington St., Huntington. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. For online condolences please visit us at www.abriola.com.
